Papercraft Object - Prototype 1

For my papercraft project, I chose to do an angel figure. My thinking processes were to do two cubes for the head and body but I thought that would have been too boring and wouldn't give the "round" ish shape I wanted, so I went with a pentagon and built it off of that. My inspiration is this angel character/logo that I always use on everything, which kind of became an icon to identify things that belonged to me. I've used that for a while, it's literally on everything, printed on lanyards, laser-cut keychains, hoodies, stickers, etc. And I've never tried making that design as a 3D object so I thought why not do it for this project. Initially, I had some trouble coming up with the idea of how I would approach this as a 3-D object because I've been drawing it as a 2-dimensional figure since I've created it.

As I realized when I laser-cut the design as a keychain, that the halo was floating on its own so I knew it had to be a separate part, but making it become a paper-craft 3-D object, that would have made the design way harder to create since I wouldn't know how to attach it. I definitely completely forgot about how I would attach it after it was printed... Which as it turns out I grabbed a scrap piece of paper and created an attachment part, which did NOT hold the halo at all, well it did for a good 5 seconds before it started to descend from the original height.
Also, from my original inspiration, I did have a little "devil's" tail on it... I haven't decided whether I was gonna add it or not because it might be too flimsy and delicate. So far, I've decided against adding it on, this may change later.

After making the prototype, I have found a few areas of improvement for next time, like the halo needs a better attachment area and an actual, to make it more stable, the angel wings could have used more detail or 3-dimensional feel, and possibly separated so it's an easier way to attach them. parts of the head tabs weren't great for gluing since it wouldn't stay together or keeps popping up. So I have to move around the tabs. Some tabs were overlapping the same areas so I had to trim those off, also a few lines that I forgot to delete the duplicated lines.
From the peer discussion session in class, I've gathered the idea to somehow make the angel-wings 3-D or at least look less flat, whether it was detail feathers or just making a few folds within a more structured version of the wing (like making it a "block" or shape instead of one flimsy piece of paper)

Memorial Jewellery Documentation I

Hello! It is technically the "summer" and I have an assignment to create a death artifact for a deceased character. I've dug deep into my childhood to find Ember McLain from the Nickelodeon animated series 'Danny Phantom'. She passed away as a teenage aspiring musician in the early 1970s in Amity Park America. So I thought it'd be cool to mash up the American 1970's early punk era with the formal memorial diamond/jewellery death artifact.  I came up with some sketches after researching the different types of diamond cuttings and earring designs I could go with. Since Ember wore a purple dual earlobe set throughout the show, I thought I'd also create a memorial earring set that follows that theme. Following her colour palette of blue, purple, black, and grey, I ended up choosing the blue memorial diamond option since it was better than the black synthetic gem for a family memorial piece. Then I paired it with silver for the rest of the earring design si

Reverse Engg Object: HD Render and Exploded View

This reverse engineering project was about learning the tools of rhino by creating an object of our choice digitally. Using a calliper and precise measurements, we were to create a replica of a mechanical object to be pretty much exact. With the limitations of no organic or soft objects, no weapons, and must be complex/simple enough to finish within the three-week frame.      I chose an old pair of scissors as my object to replicate. It started out simple, though it was harder than I thought to wrap my head around a pair of scissors than I thought. Maybe it was because I had a year break in between last year's 3D modelling and rendering, but for the smallest things, I couldn't process for hours. This project took at least 11.5 hrs to do. I got stuck in some places like the angled blade, curvature of the handles, and finding the smallest slip-ups that caused an open shape. I know I had drawn some parts separately but when I tried to assemble them and boolean-split the screw
