Mesh Mashup: Concept Generation

What is Remix Culture?
Well, to me, remix culture is having two or more objects, ideas, or designs put together to create a new thing. Mixing two things to reproduce a new, unique, and intriguing object that people are shocked but also curious about. In the concepts that I made below, it was the first objects that I thought of that might look unique together.
Personally, I love the idea of creating two objects into a mashup because it's like giving consumers something new to be intrigued by. From a marketing perspective, referring to the documentary we watched previously, what can we do as designers to create a product that engages the consumer's attentions towards our designs rather than other designers' versions of it. Creating mashups of two or more designs that appear to be "normal" to a consumer, into a unique, different, curious, new design, it really gives consumers the want to buy the product just because it's different. Though we have to keep in mind that as different and unique our designs become, it has to still hold a certain similarity to the original so the consumers know what they're buying so they would actually want to purchase the designed item.

Concepts:
Wine Glass and Splash as a straw, for a cocktail drink. It's more of a decoration for aesthetically pleasing photos. Also, it might look like a super crazy design for people who are intoxicated already.

Ring and Card Chip Holder, for place holders that you can have easy access to and remember where you put it. Possibly for credit card chips so you can tap and go, or camera SD card chip holder.

Guitar and Microphone, because who has time to hold both a microphone and a guitar. Why not create an all in one? How will it pick up the vocals of your voice from that angle? I'm not sure yet because I don't play the guitar.

Nerdy Rabbit Cup, because who wouldn't love to stare at a rabbit while drinking their coffee half awake? Also, the glasses arms can be like a holder for the spoon or stir straw you use for coffee, or better yet, a holder for the tea bag that keeps floating around when you're just trying to enjoy your burning hot cup of tea in the morning.

Computer + Cup Holder, a place to hold your cup or mug so that coffee can still be near your computer without the issue of it spilling onto your computer, and staying hydrated is important when you're facing technology for a long time

Snail + MailBox, snail mail, something I recall hearing when I was young... this was always how I imagined them. Well, that's a concept that has no real meaning to it but it happened.

Clock and Vase, so that the clock tells you when to water the plants, acts as a timer. Because who keeps forgetting to water their plants consistently.... just me? Oh ok. Guess this concept would only benefit people who forget about their plants' hydration needs.

Spoon + Violin, Haven't decided whether this will be spoon sized or violin sized, but the general shape of the spoon behind the violin might be a cool concept because it gives it more of a shape. Though it might make the sound of the violin be odd.

Glasses + Kitchen Utensils, because why not have a pair of glasses that can be easily repaired with kitchen utensils and have portable utensils on the go. Ever forgot a spoon or a fork for lunch, and you can't seem to find some utensils anywhere in the school? Well, here you go! This concept will be the solution to your problem..... unless you stab your head with a fork.... maybe aim for safer utensils as the glasses arms.

Frying Pan + Lamp Shade + Lightbulb + Pyramid Block, basically it is made with a pan and pyramid as a base and arm for a lamp. I think it might give a creative shape to play around with that, and also to have a bigger "base" for the lightbulb to fit. More sturdy, it keeps the shape of the uniquely made lampshade, a better fighting tool if your house just got broken into... because have you watched Tangled? A frying pan is a very helpful self-defencing tool. For some reason this seemed like a cool concept in my mind, still looks pretty cool as a digital model, not sure if it would stay standing as an actual object though.

Memorial Jewellery Documentation I

Hello! It is technically the "summer" and I have an assignment to create a death artifact for a deceased character. I've dug deep into my childhood to find Ember McLain from the Nickelodeon animated series 'Danny Phantom'. She passed away as a teenage aspiring musician in the early 1970s in Amity Park America. So I thought it'd be cool to mash up the American 1970's early punk era with the formal memorial diamond/jewellery death artifact.  I came up with some sketches after researching the different types of diamond cuttings and earring designs I could go with. Since Ember wore a purple dual earlobe set throughout the show, I thought I'd also create a memorial earring set that follows that theme. Following her colour palette of blue, purple, black, and grey, I ended up choosing the blue memorial diamond option since it was better than the black synthetic gem for a family memorial piece. Then I paired it with silver for the rest of the earring design si

Reverse Engg Object: HD Render and Exploded View

This reverse engineering project was about learning the tools of rhino by creating an object of our choice digitally. Using a calliper and precise measurements, we were to create a replica of a mechanical object to be pretty much exact. With the limitations of no organic or soft objects, no weapons, and must be complex/simple enough to finish within the three-week frame.      I chose an old pair of scissors as my object to replicate. It started out simple, though it was harder than I thought to wrap my head around a pair of scissors than I thought. Maybe it was because I had a year break in between last year's 3D modelling and rendering, but for the smallest things, I couldn't process for hours. This project took at least 11.5 hrs to do. I got stuck in some places like the angled blade, curvature of the handles, and finding the smallest slip-ups that caused an open shape. I know I had drawn some parts separately but when I tried to assemble them and boolean-split the screw
